ALLEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TITLE ONE LEARNING COMPACT 2019-20
MISSION STATEMENT
Allen School strives to engage all students, parents, and community members in the learning
process. Innovation, creativity, and collaboration are an integral part of the school experience.
Teachers frequently analyze data to drive instruction and support personalized goals for all
students.
Optimal academic achievement occurs when students feel valued, safe, and invested in their
own learning. Therefore, the staff is committed to fostering positive relationships with all
students.
As parents/guardians, we will:
* Make sure that our child attends school regularly and arrives on time so s/he will receive the
full benefit of instruction
* Encourage good study habits at home, by helping her/him find the time and
a quiet spot to work at home so that s/he can complete her/his homework which helps
reinforce what s/he has learned during the school day
* Communicate with our child’s teacher regularly in person, by phone or by email during
both easy and difficult periods
* Encourage our child to solve problems peacefully, which includes modeling and talking
about problem-solving strategies in our home
* Show our belief in the importance of school by attending scheduled conferences, volunteering
whenever possible, and participating in classroom or after-school events

* Ask for help whenever I need it, and give help when someone else needs it

* Provide high quality instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies as
outlined in state guidelines
* Hold Parent-Teacher Conferences during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to
your child’s achievement.
* Keep the lines of communication open with students and parents, by means of phone, email,
and in-person contact
* Send formal progress reports home in November, March, and June
* Recognize, support and appreciate the diversity of our school community
* Help children learn the skills to solve conflicts in a peaceful manner
* Respect and encourage the individual strengths in each child, building on these to ensure
continuous growth within our learning community
*Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class. And to observe
classroom activities
